I was deeply honored to be the recipient of the inaugural SNO Lisa DeAngelis Education Award. This award honoring Dr. Lisa DeAngelis was particularly meaningful to me because she has been a personal role model given her outstanding leadership, dedication to mentoring and passion for education. The award also exemplifies the many opportunities that SNO and the neuro-oncology community have provided me to contribute to the education and mentorship of many trainees and junior faculty across the world. I am grateful to SNO for this honor and the recognition of Dr. DeAngelis’ many contributions to education through this award.”

Epidemiologic Data
Committed to being a resource for gathering and disseminating epidemiologic data on all primary benign and malignant brain and other CNS tumors, the Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States (CBTRUS) supports the accurate description of incidence and survival patterns, diagnosis and treatment, etiologic studies, the establishment of awareness of the disease, and ultimately help prevent central nervous system tumors.
We have partnered with SNO since 2012, and this support has greatly extended our ability to share accurate, population-based incidence rates for primary brain tumors that we hope may provide clues to stimulate research into the causes of this terrible disease”.
